Patient Partnering Programme (PPP)

Patient Partnering is the name of the program ENZ introduced at Christchurch Women’s Hospital in 2004. It was developed to meet the needs of patients and provide Continuing Medical Education (CME) to hospital staff, medical departments and GPs in the area.

ENZ understands the crippling effect endometriosis and pelvic pain can have on women, their families, their community and countries as a whole. This together with the well-recorded international data showing diagnostic delay, hit and miss treatments, misdiagnosis, social stigmas and human and financial burdens formed the foundation for program development.

The ENZ Patient Partnering program supports a multidisciplinary holistic approach which is gold standard best practice. PPP is a patient centred, well-health model where the woman is informed and empowered to be pivotal in her care.  Women learn to develop coping and management strategies to assist with improved lifestyle, nutrition and self-management options.

Sick and tired of being sick and tired? Having a chronic and painful condition like endometriosis can be physically and emotionally distressing and complex. The Patient Partnering Programme can help by filling treatment gaps to improve your health journey. Ask your DHB to see whether the program is available in your hospital.  It is available in some private endometriosis treatment centres offering expertise in the treatment and management of endometriosis.

PATIENT PARTNERING PROGRAMME – for DHBs. A contract with ENZ provides services such as:

  • Education and support
  • Specific resources for patients and staff personalised to the region and community
  • Access all existing services – workshops, seminars and one on one patient coaching / counselling
  • Staff training workshops

The benefits, expected outcomes and patient review have been analysed and evaluated assessing performance, accountability and value added health care through independent research.

ENZ can provide training, resources and peer review for internal use in hospitals and PHOs.

Endometriosis NZ is fortunate in having educators and advisors who are trained and well informed in the understanding, treatment, management and evidence based self-management of endometriosis and pelvic pain. Your ENZ educator / advisor is happy to listen to you and discuss treatment and management options in the hope that they can help you find the treatment path which best suit you and that matters to you.

We can provide education and well-health coaching to girls and women. ENZ educators and advisors are not doctors or nurses and are not trained counsellors. Please note that the service does not take the place of a consultation with a registered doctor or health professional.
